L’Allée des petits secrets
A festive event of artistic discoveries
The first edition of The Alley of Little Secrets was held in April 2017. A multidisciplinary event, it brought together several artists who presented short forms or excerpts of their work to children from daycares and kindergarten classes. Built like a maze of curiosities on a tiny scale, the Salle de diffusion de Parc-Extension venue was transformed. In the company of two cool and eccentric guides, the groups of children were invited to wander around and discover different artistic universes: visual and sound installations, puppets, songs, shadow theatre, animated films and games, combined to create a resolutely festive ambiance.
You can imagine how, as a festive intervention meant to close the mediation activities we led with several daycare groups in the Parc-Extension neighbourhood, the Alley of Little Secrets proved to be much more!
Particiants of this first edition:
Artists: Nathalie Derome, Julie Desrosiers, Steeve Dumais, Dominique Leroux, Christine Plouffe, Audrée Southière and Anne-Sophie Tougas / Set design: Anick Beaulieu and Gigi Perron / Short animated films: Anick Beaulieu and Gigi Perron, Diane Obomsawin
The event was produced by Des mots d’la dynamite in collaboration with the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension Maison de la Culture, through its Hors les murs program. We thank all the artists and collaborators associated with this project, as well as the generous team at the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension Maison de la Culture. To them we say, "And we strongly hope to relive the experience!"
